About Tofino
Tofino is a popular tourist destination in the summer. Situated on the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, we’re surrounded by the vast, breathtaking expanse of the UNESCO Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region—a region cherished for its profound biodiversity and environmental culture. Tofino's population swells to many times its winter size. It attracts surfers, hikers, nature lovers, bird watchers, campers, whale watchers, fishers, or anyone just looking to be close to nature. Tofino sits North of Long Beach, a scenic and popular year-round destination, at the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Tofino also shares the peninsula with the town of Ucluelet.
Travelers come to Tofino via the road West from Port Alberni as well as via float plane. The town has a quaint, hip charm that bring people back year after year.
